Dr. Martinez, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Martinez has been a part of Heights Hospital for Animals since June 2014. After graduating from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993, Dr. Martinez received the American Animal Hospital Association Award for Clinic Proficiency in Medicine and Surgery. He practiced for 17 years in a small animal practice before joining the Heights Hospital.

Dr. Martinez is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the Harris County VMA and he is also a member of the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, as well as, the American Animal Hospital Association.

Dr. Martinez’s special interest is Small Animal Internal Medicine, surgery and dermatology.

Dr. Martinez and his wife Caroline have 3 children and a Schnauzer named ‘Lol’. He also enjoys traveling, exercising and cooking with his family.

Dr. Wen, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Wen grew up with a zoo of animals and always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She worked as an accountant for a few years before attending vet school at Texas A&M. Having lived many years nearby, she is very fond of the Heights and is excited to serve the community. Dr. Wen’s special interests include Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Dentistry, and Miniature Schnauzers. She is Fear Free certified to care for your pets’ physical and emotional well-being.

In her spare time, Dr. Wen enjoys reading, hot yoga, game nights, and trying new restaurants with her husband. Together they are owned by two cats and two dogs, a “foster fail” mutt and a parti schnauzer who star in their own Instagram account. Dr. Wen has fostered for several rescue groups and continues to volunteer at non-profit spay/neuter events.

Learning and education are very important here at Heights Hospital for Animals. We strive to have a state-of-the-art hospital with a staff trained in the latest medical advances. Our patients deserve the very best veterinary care.

Basically, our team is full of animal lovers. They make it a goal to treat each patient like their own. They give each patient plenty of love and attention. They are prepared to discuss preventative medicine so that every pet can stay as healthy as possible. They will also do everything they can to make a sick pet feel better as soon as possible.
